No more forgetful people showing up at the wrong time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rescheduling an Appointment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three ways an appointment on your calendar can be rescheduled using GReminders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.) If you use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/how-to\/appointment-scheduling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GReminders automated scheduling<\/a>, your client will receive an invite to your event with a link to reschedule the appointment. The client clicks on the link and reschedules themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.) You can include a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/sms-text-reminder-confirmation-pages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reschedule link in your reminders<\/a>.  Once again, your client clicks a link and chooses another date\/time on your scheduling calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.) <strong>You<\/strong> move the event on your calendar to another date\/time. This can be the result of your client calling and requesting the rescheduling, or you move the appointment unilaterally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first two scenarios, your clients will be the person who changed the appointment and, in most cases, will automatically receive an email notification of the change. However, in the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> situation, it could be helpful for the client to receive some type of notification of the rescheduled event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s take a look at a couple of the examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Client Calls to Reschedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your client calls you and asks to reschedule their appointment. You want to make sure that the client receives written confirmation of the new time so there is no confusion about what time the appointment will take place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To create notifications that clients will receive shortly after you move an event on your calendar, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"936\" height=\"354\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R1.jpg\" alt=\"Reschedule as a Purpose\" class=\"wp-image-3801\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R1.jpg 936w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R1-300x113.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R1-768x290.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Open the Client Reminder Templates and select Reschedule as the Purpose of the Reminder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1-1024x411.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10842\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1-1024x411.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1-300x121.png 300w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1-768x309.png 768w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1.png 1257w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Create a simple message to confirm the date and time of the rescheduled appointment. <em>The message shown in the example above is added by default to the body when &#8220;Reschedule&#8221; is selected for SMS Reminder Notifications.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The client receives the following:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"233\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Booking_Screen3-233x300.jpg\" alt=\"Reschedule Notification\" class=\"wp-image-3816\" style=\"width:350px;height:400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Booking_Screen3-233x300.jpg 233w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Booking_Screen3-768x990.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Booking_Screen3.jpg 794w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 233px) 100vw, 233px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The original reminder the client received is on top and after you move the event on your calendar, the Reschedule reminder is sent (bottom). This eliminates any possible confusion and provides written notification the client can use to ensure they show up on the right day and time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note: If your client has confirmed the meeting prior to the reschedule, the confirmation status will be reset (to unconfirmed). This is the perfect opportunity to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/only-send-reminders-if-appointment-is-not-confirmed-confirmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">create a reminder template based on the unconfirmed status<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rescheduling the Appointment Unilaterally<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are times when something comes up and you need to reschedule a meeting. Setting up the Reschedule reminder notification below will help reduce the back and forth of trying to find another time to meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Begin by selecting Reschedule as the Purpose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"921\" height=\"753\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R3.jpg\" alt=\"Rescheduling Reminder Template\" class=\"wp-image-3804\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R3.jpg 921w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R3-300x245.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R3-768x628.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 921px) 100vw, 921px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Create a Custom Criteria (<em>Event Title contains the word or phrase<\/em>), and include a word or phrase <em><strong>that is only used for situations when you move an appointment on your calendar unilaterally.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then include verbiage that lets your clients know that you had to reschedule the appointment and ask them to confirm if the new date will work for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>If your client has already confirmed the original appointment<\/em><\/strong>, the confirmation status will be reset automatically so if you see a confirmation checkmark, you&#8217;ll know your client has accepted the new time to meet (you can also receive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/host-notifications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">notification of this by email and\/or SMS<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"728\" height=\"560\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R4.jpg\" alt=\"Edit Your Appointment\" class=\"wp-image-3806\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R4.jpg 728w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/R4-300x231.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, Open the Event on your Google or Outlook calendar and select Edit. But in the following examples, we\u2019ll be looking at situations when no cancelation link is used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clients Cancel Events by Replying &#8220;No&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"233\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Booking_Screen2-233x300.jpg\" alt=\"Client Replies No\" class=\"wp-image-3808\" style=\"width:300px;height:386px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Booking_Screen2-233x300.jpg 233w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Booking_Screen2-768x990.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.greminders.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Booking_Screen2.jpg 794w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 233px) 100vw, 233px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>In the example above, your client responded \u201cNo\u201d when asked to confirm their appointment.
