GReminders relies on either your Google or Microsoft login or can support basic Username\/Password for authentication. Since your calendar is generally tied to your email account login (which is generally hosted on Google or Microsoft), it’s natural for you to use these credentials for login. It also makes it more<\/sup><\/sup> secure since GReminders never stores your actual password and only an authentication token.<\/sup><\/sup><\/sup><\/sup><\/sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to change your lo<\/sup><\/sup>gin to use Username and Password, you must first enable Username\/Password authentication in Setup > Security<\/strong>. Please check<\/sup> the “Supported Login Providers for New Users”<\/em> in this area.<\/sup><\/sup><\/sup><\/sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you enable Username\/Password, you can then go <\/sup>to My Profile<\/strong> and click on “Switch to a different Login Provider”<\/strong>. Select Username\/Password and se<\/sup><\/sup>t your password.<\/sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if you need to change your Gmail or Outlook\/Microsoft login to another email address, it’s not as easy as just changing your email address in GReminders.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note: <\/em><\/strong>Do not just change your email address on your GReminders account to your new email address. It will not give you the desired results. If you have already done so, you will need to revert your address back to the original email address in My Profile before following the steps below.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our example, we are switching from old@gmail.com<\/code> (our old Google account<\/sup> connected to GReminders) to new@gmail.com<\/code> (our new Google account).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Update Your Login Email Address:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  1. Enable Username\/Password Login:<\/strong> Go to Setup > Security<\/strong> and make sure Username\/Password<\/strong> is checked under Supported Login Providers<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Switch Login Provider:<\/strong> Log into GReminders with old@gmail.com<\/code>. Go to My Profile<\/strong> and click “Switch to a different Login Provider”<\/strong>. Choose Username\/Password<\/strong> and set a password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Update Your Profile Email:<\/strong> While still in My Profile<\/strong>, change your email address from old@gmail.com<\/code> to new@gmail.com<\/code> and save.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Reconnect Your Calendar:<\/strong> Disconnect your old calendar integration (old@gmail.com<\/code>) and connect your new calendar account (new@gmail.com<\/code>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Switch Back to Google\/Microsoft SSO (Optional):<\/strong> Return to My Profile<\/strong>, click “Switch to a different Login Provider”<\/strong>, and re-select Google<\/strong> or Microsoft<\/strong> to log in with Single Sign-On using new@gmail.com<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
